All OnStar equipped 2014 GM vehicles are eligible to use the RemoteLink Key Fob functions. With just the RemoteLink Key Fob Services, you won't have the full functionality of the OnStar RemoteLink mobile app, which comes with services like easily being able to send directions to your vehicle or checking your vehicle's fuel range, oil life, or tire pressure. In addition, there is no access to an Advisor or to Stolen Vehicle Assistance. But you do have the option to get the full functionality of RemoteLink by enrolling in either the Safe & Sound or Directions & Connections plans, if you want.

Simply download the app, accept the End User License Agreement and use the app at least once during your trial period (or consecutive paid OnStar subscription) and the service will be available to you for up to five years. Let me know if you have any other questions.

So when my XM radio expires in 3 months I will lose my traffic and weather BUT if I renew for say $25 every 6 months I will get to keep those two features (and some stations of course)? Darnit, I always thought the traffic and weather were tethering off my Bluetooth :nonod:

I actually think they will try charging more for the traffic and wheather, but you can get just the radio if you want.

When my wife's Equinox XM expired last year, we renewed. The weather, gas prices, etc were still not there. I found that XM has an add on called XM Travellink-or something like that. Either $2 or $3 extra monthly, but got all those things back.

Mine will expire in my Sierra in about 2 weeks and won't renew any of it. I'd rather stream Pandora or Iheartradio than have XM.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks, good to know! Do you know if there was an option to just have the traffic and weather? Only reason I ask is because I find it pretty weird to have those damn buttons and no use for them on my screen haha.

I will try when mine expires, I find those helpful. XM music programming is just awful and I have no need for it. I'll post what they tell me.

I just renewed.... basically got half off the price they sent me in the mailer. $45 every six months.. but I do have the weather part included. I think just the basic XM radio with no extras was like $25- 30 for 6 months.

Just haggle with them, tell them you don't really need it... play the back and forth game for a few min and you should get half off..
