Howdy, new to the forums. Picked up a '14 Sierra Double Cab SLE 4x4 4.3L last week. Love the truck its my first pickup. Has the Prefered package besides that I added a bedliner, ordered an undercover flex yesterday and plan to add some husky liner mud flaps and maybe some nerf bars or running boards.

I think it's a great motor, its got more get up and go that the previous gen 4.8 V8 if you ask me. I think it has a lot to do w/ the 6speed auto. I would have prefered a 5.3 however, all the ones I found in my area were in trucks with upgraded option packages that made the trucks about $2500.00 more than mine, which put it out of my budget.

Truck gets on the highway great and plenty of pep around town. If I pulled a heavy trailer frequently I'd imagine the 5.3 would be a must but, I don't even own a trailer and if I rent or borrow one it won't be to move anything very heavy. So long stroy short yea I like it it meets my needs.

P.S. Sorry for the crummy pic in my OP. Its been crappy weather here in NE Ohio since I got the big red beast so no good photos yet, I took that one to send to my buddy when he asked how well it fit in the garage!

Welcome and great looking truck. Take a look at the factory mudflaps too, I personally think they look better and more "factory" than the husky but some people like the husky better.....to each their own!

THANKS! Yeah I think I'm gonna get the GMC mudflaps after further consideration.

Great looking truck! Do you have any side profile pics?

And what diff ratio comes with the V6?

Thanks! No side pics right now. I want to say mine is a 3.42 but I can't recall at the moment. Mostly I got the V6 to save $$ on purchase price but, the truck doesn't feel underpowered.

Undercover Flex. Installed it in about 45 mins on Thursday night so far pretty
pleased with it. easy to install if I had to do another one I could
probably knock it out in like 20 mins.

No idea on water-tightness it's snowed a little bit but that's not a very good gauge IMO.
