Crazy Tracking Idea

Has anyone with a VIN number ever tried to register their in transit vehicle with OnStar? I wonder if this would work to be able to track where your vehicle is within the shipping process.

No word of a lie, I seriously considered calling them with my VIN and asking "where the heck is my truck?!?!"

 

Try it! It's a free call, right? And the worst they can tell you is "sorry, we can't tell you where it is".

You can ask for sure. But most of the new stuff I have transported has been in transport mode until it arrives to the dealer. The key fobs are not programmed & dash displays will read transport mode etc.

That said, have not moved much NEW in the way of GM vehicles aside from some small SUV's out of TN. & that has been awhile.

I would bet it wont work, as said with the truck in transport mode most all of the modules are turned off to eliminate battery drain while in transport.
