2014 Duramax

Well as it turned out I needed a new truck before the end of the year. I was hoping to hold out for a 2015 2500 but had to go ahead with a '14. Got it earlier in the week and have been busy making some additions. I have added Goodyear Duratrac 285's, Bilstein shocks and leveled, bed caps, weathertechs, tinted windows, Linex Premium.

It is loaded with everything you can get on it but the rear DVD, which is getting put on next week. I will get more pics along the way. Still have more upgrades.

It has some good power. Liking it so far. u5esy7uj.jpg

The longer bed is nice. ATV will fit with tailgate up. Not hard to drive either. It is very surprising how strong and fast it is.

I am wanting go put a camlocker cross box on it(in black) but not sure I want to loose the bed space. The cooled seats and sunroom are nice. Haven't had such luxuries before. Wife's truck does, but first for mine.

What kind of tax deduction is it for? Business?

Lovely. Wouldn't mind a duramax myself, just couldn't find a logical reason for the extra cash. Wish my wife used her head and thought harder on it! Haha... 5.3 will do for me.

I own a business and use my trucks for work. I have a couple others as well, a Dodge diesel for one. The Duramax is nice. I pulled a twenty foot long trailer today and was impressed by how it handled the load.

I don't know if I will add anything to it that would void warranty like a programmer. I run them pretty hard for 2-3 years and trade them. I usually put 30-40,000 miles per year. I like the power train warranty GM provides.

I may add a dpf back exhaust but not sure yet. It has like 400hp and almost 800tq so it is like a hotrod. It will hit 0-60 in 7.1 secs. I saw it on YouTube and was thinking that must be a reg cab 2wd but, as it turns out this crew 4wd will do it. I smoked the factory tires a lot while I was waiting on the Duratracs to arrive.

This thing will burn the tires with traction control on. The brakes are really good too. So far I like it a lot. Having owed 2 07s, 2 '10s, 2 '11s, and a '13, all of the others being 5.3 engines and with exception to the 07(3.73), others had 3.42 gears, it is quite the change in power with this diesel.

Dam!! You go through some trucks! What do you do for a living, if you don't mind me asking?

Haha not right now. I have a good group. There are some great job opportunities in agriculture now. If you are willing to relocate there are many positions available. Check with Dupont, Dow, Bayer, Southern States, Syngenta....many career opportunities.
