Silverado 1500 vs GMC 1500

Hello! My last truck was a 96 base model cheyenne with a mad lift which i trashed in the hills near my house last summer. ever since, I've been borrowing my brothers ride to get to places trying to save up enough deniro for a new girl. Anyways, I was totally set on purchasing a new silverado but the new model they came out with hasnt grown on me yet. Silverado has been my #1 choice ever since i was concepted but now I really dont know. Just started researching the sierra 1500 ext cab short bed sle 4X4. Not too bad but pretty #### expensive. I cant seem to find any low end 4X4 without all the yuppie addons! One dealer basically told me he could never find one and walked away. WHAT!? so been pretty depressed at these failed attempts to get my hands on a new pickup.

Bottom line: should i go for the silverado and hope it grows on me or keep on trekkin for the sierra? MAN I WISH I LIKED THE NEW SILVERADO MODELS.

Well, I have the Silverado and love it.  However, I didn't buy it for the looks, but for the comfort and workability.  The 2003 truck seems to have several "bug" fixes over previous year models, especially in the quality of ride and quietness, also in the so-called knock issue that shows up in some of the motors.

 

Regarding the yuppie stuff.  Did around on the the GM site and investigate the "WORK" model.  And, you might check out the GMC.  It seems to have a more traditional nose than the Silverados.

You need to find another GMC dealer, believe me there are plenty of them that will not walk away from you. Set down with them and order what you want. Buy what you want, not what you may end up likeing, making payments on something you do not like will get old. Good Luck!

thanks fellas for the tip! irymal the silverado is looking better and better. bcnu, yeah ill keep you posted on how the search goes! going to hit up the l.a. and riverside county dealerships tomorrow. maybe ill have better luck there eh!

I hated the silverados (new style 03s) when they came out.  They are growing on me.  I still dont like the 2wd models but i could live with an HD

If you cannot find what you want, order one. It is a "sold unit". Especially a fleet dealer will understand what that means, but any dealer is happier with that, than something sitting on the lot 120 days.
