New Truck Sits lower

They're no lower than the GMT-900s. Look at the specs posted above. the 2014 has a whopping .1 inch less ground clearance.

I just came from a 1996 Silverado Z71. I was shocked that the dimensions between it and my 2014 were nearly identical.

Does anyone know how leveling the truck effects the warranty?

According to the specs both generations have the same clearance and height. Even though those numbers are the same depending on what you are looking at on the vehicles it may make it look or feel lower. The height of the door sills and body lines may be different. Even the wheel openings could be different. Just speculating here on why it may appear to sit lower.

I measured the airdams on my 2010 and my new 2014 and the new one is lower. Of course I have a level kit but if you take that out of the equation it is still lower.

Some may say just take off the air dam but that looks unfinished to me.

If you have ever seen the GM add picture of the old and new half ton side by side you can see the difference in the picture itself.

Everyone quotes factory specs but do you get the gas mileage that the factory specs?!? Or are they slightly off Ha ha ha.

Anyway, I am getting the lift kit so it doesn't matter

Should not effect your warranty at all. I contacted my dealer before doing my RC 2.5" lift. The service manager said that I would be fine because I do all my maintenance and have purchased my last 4 vehicles from them. He said it's up to the discretion of the dealership/service managers if a part fails or wears out due to the leveling kit or lift kit if they will warranty it.

I believe the air dam on the 2014 is taller so it is closer to the ground. But the truck itself should not sit lower. It's just has a taller air dam and different bumper. This was done by GM to help with the fuel mileage. So it sounds like the trucks sit at the same height (meaning suspension.) However the height of the body panels and components (such as the air dam) are mounted at different heights. So yeah, If the body points and accessories are lower it will make the truck appear lower. Normally when you refer to height you mean the suspension clearance or the overall height of the vehicle. Those two measurements are almost identical between the two models. The 4wd GM trucks have some of the lowest sitting bodies when compared to other trucks. I have had several Nissan and Toyota owners say that my GM looks more like a 2wd. But then again that's why the GM has better gas mileage. As you said it's nothing a suspension lift won't fix. Show some pics of your truck when you do the lift. Can't wait to see.

The seat has a ton of adjustment. I like the lift kit so far. The ride is smoother than my old 2010 with a level kit and it had brand new Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks.

I have never had a lifted truck before so I didn't know what to expect.

The front wheels are pushed out quite a bit but it still handles like a normal 1/2 ton I would say. No weird effects on the steering.

I t has about 700 km on it and the dash says it is getting 16.4 litres per km. for the first two hours of it's life it idled while I tried to figure it out inside so that is pretty good. The more I drive the lower it gets

The only thing that isn't good is how the front tires throw mud up all over the mirrors and truck.

I really don't want fender flares but, I may have to put them on.

Going to drive it for a few months to see how it goes.

Yea I'm getting fender flares because my truck picks up a lot of mud. You should really enjoy it. This my 4th lifted truck I have done. Real happy with the stance and the BDS lift. I'm putting in gears though to help with mileage and get the power back.
