Since, yesterday was a gorgeous day, I went to my local Can-Am dealer and see if I could test drive an Outty. I had the chance to test drive a 2013 Outty 1000 XT. Man that thing was stupid fast! Instant get-up and GO! I would love to have one, but idk if I wanna pay that price.

While they are amazing atvs I'd have a hard time paying over 10 for something that just gets beat up off road and isn't street legal

Every time I toyed with the idea of buying an ATV before I moved it always came down to a 700 Grizzly or the Rincon. The Yamaha I always figured like you to be more powerful and fun but the Honda would be powerful enough and probably run forever. Also it has no belt in the trans to get wet. Can-Ams are very nice but way more money than the rest and never could get beyond that.

Yeah for real, they're costly.

Yeah you wouldn't have to worry about no belt on the Honda's, I just wish they would make a more powerful bike, just to compete with the other brands. Yamaha, is being pretty reliable as long as you do your up to date maintenance on 'em.

Honda has always been a conservative company in the ATV world.. Their 450r and 400ex are also long due for a update. Does the rincon even have IRS?

I wouldn't worry about the CVT belts, the cases are sealed very well and it's uncommon to get water in there.. And even if you do, it's very easy to take the cover off the cvt and dry it out

I wouldn't wanna get water past a certain point on a fourwheeler, then you'll might have some problems then.

Yes it does have IRS on it, I think the only one though. The new '14 Foreman 500 is pretty impressive so far.

CVT in our old Yamaha (~10 years) hasn't been touched. No issues. They're so simple, rare for something to go wrong.

I think I wanna get the Grizzly, but I haven't had the chance to test drive one of them so far. The Outty 1000XT had tons of power, I did love it that a lot.

I think I'm gonna get the Outty!

Local guy around here has a 2013 Outty 1000XT for sale, has 300 miles on it and asking $9k for it. Good or bad deal?

I'd say it's a good deal.. 300 miles is nothing an atv.. The longest day of riding I've driven 110 miles in a day. Can't hurt to offer 8000 for it, it's probably been for sale for a good amount of time, not many people have a disposable 9g around.

That sucks. If you do get an Outty get a 2012+ version with the G2 frame. Much stronger than the previous frames. Got my Outty a month ago and this thing will keep up with my neighbors charger with a hemi in it up to about 50 or 60

I got a left over 2013 for 10, 300 OTD. Actually went to pick up a brute force but for another $1000 I figured this was totally worth it. Call Ridersville Cycle up in Berkley Springs, WV. Not sure how far they are away from you though, I remember you telling me your down there in southwest VA aka moonshine country lol
