HOA Rant

I like some aspects of HOA's like someone said; you can't paint your house bright pink but, it kinda limits the freedom to do what you want with your own property. I looked at some homes with HOA's and honestly for the first reason I stated I liked the idea of it. I live on about an acre on a rural road now, its not really a neighborhood or a sub division just a secondary road on the outskirts of town but, we do have some serious dumps on the road that need to be fixed up / knocked down I wish that I had an HOA for that but then again it's not my house so really its not for me to say how its kept up.

HOA's are ultimately a necassary evil for stopping neighborhoods from getting run down. Which is good, until you get one that goes section 8 and chases you up the parking garage cause they cant see your parking sticker.....

HOA sounds like a terrible idea. Sure, they limit terrible choices being made. BUT, shouldn't I be able to do what I want with my own property that I purchase and maintain?

 

I, speaking just for me, will not be moving into an HOA area.....or hardly a neighborhood for that matter. I can't even see my neighbors house, so why would I care what color it is, or what kind of pool is in the backyard? Again, why would I care about his house in the first place?
