Charging problem

2001 chevy silverado (every thing power ) notice head lights would go dim everynow and then voltage gauge would drop down below 14 and then back up to 14 then i noticed when i lower and raise my power windows my lights realy go dim until i let off the switch put a new alt on it still does the same thing sometimes even just driving down the road it will do it .. any help would be helpfull ...

No way it should be dropping below normal driving down the road. Maybe you have a window motor on the way out that's pulling way too much power.

Is operating a power window the only time you notice lights dimming, etc.? If so is it only one side or both windows? What does your gauge drop down to when you notice things going dim? Rob suggested having your battery and alternator tested? Did you actually have them tested or are you just replying to his suggestion? You're going to have to provide a little more detail about what is happening if you expect some help here.

i have installed new bat and alt both are ok charging 14v + and still does it .. both window cause it to dim but while driving it somtime the lights go dim and fan motor slows down then it picks right back up lights go brite with out messing with windows does it on its own .. gauge drops down below 14v when this happen ..

Yea I don't think it's a window motor causing it....I'd give Tim's post some thought, especially if you live in the rust belt.

Just a shot in the dark: sounds like symptoms of a loose/corroded body ground. (First post, hope i helped.)
