02suburbanZ71 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 My hypertech allows me to increase my shift points by +100,+200,+300,+400,+500. How do i know what RPM it will shift at with these numbers. I would like to shift at 6100 so what should I increase it by?
Hypertech Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 stock shift point is 5600 and put it at +500 and you should shift where you want to. You will have to bump up the rpm limiter all the way as well to keep from hitting it before shifts
redtherocket Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Read your instructions. When you increase the rev limit or shift point you must do bot "rev limit" and "shift point" in unison.... Why they made the programmer like that I dont know, but if you don't make the settings match things don't work right when you floor the truck . Example.. If you have your shift point set at +300 and you "don't" match it with a rev limit of +300, the truck won't shift at WOT... It will bounce the limiter and you have to let off the gas... Just a FYI... Cuz most people don't read the instruction and take the time to actually understand what going on..
02suburbanZ71 Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 I read the instructions but i still didnt understand some of the settings. So i set the shifts at +500 then it shifts at 6100. Is it possible i will hit the rev limiter during shifts if both are set at 6100?
Gurrzt Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Question; When will you have "I blew up the motor party"?, and is it "BYOB"? If you can not obtain the power you desire @ 5600 rpm, you will not obtain it @ 6100 rpm. JMHO
