4x2 to 4x4 conversion

My dad passed away six months ago leaving me his truck. I want to do a 4x2 conversion. I know it isn't "worth it" but to me it is. I can pick up a diner truck from a junk yard or get a dealer to convert it but which would be a better choice?? Not just money but time constraints as well

Do you absolutely need 4x4? Why not just get a locker in the rear. It would be A LOT more cheaper and simpler. I've seen 2wd trucks with a locker do some serious stuff. Converting a 4x2 to a 4x4 is gonna be a big headache. I would go the locker route.

My dad wanted to do it one day just for the heck of it and I would like to do it for him. Plus Im used to getting stuck throwing it in 4low and powering out with my blazer. I also wanted to lift it a little to put the 31s off my old k10 on it and that is pointless on 2wd

If it was me I'd go the doner truck route and just enjoy yourself instead of paying for the work

Thanks for the advice. I definitely miss being neck deep in parts and praying to God I remembered that bolt that I covered up 30 min ago during reassembly

What truck do you want to do the conversion to? It may be easier to go custom than hunt down a donor and swap parts. Not to mention the custom setup will perform awesome.

I like IFS. It's easy to work on and it rides good.

For a custom job SFA is the only way to go though.
