Does a 2005 crew cab 4x4 half ton Silverado with 60,000 miles for $17,000 sound like a good deal? I like the 2004-2007 (classic body styles) and might go back to one of these trucks if I could find a good deal on one with somewhat low miles, maybe 80k or less. Anybody have any pros/cons with these older trucks?

That's what I bought my 06 silverado crew cab with 71,000 miles with. I like the trucks because many of the problems that arise can be fixed relatively easily and they hold out for 200000 miles easy when taken care of.

And personally I like the look of them a little better than my current Silverado, a 2011 extended cab. Now I just have to decide what to do with my current truck if I find an older crew cab I like. I will probably try selling it myself but has anyone ever 'traded down' and got a good deal?

A friend of mine just bought a 2006 GMC Sierra slt with 68000 for $20,000, it was a 1 owner super clean fully loaded truck. It all depends on the shape of the truck( dents, scratches, wear and tear) and the option package on the truck.

That's not a bad price if it has good options. That's about what they go for here.

I couldn't be any happier with my 2006. I love driving it.

I recently bought a 2007 classic 1500 extended cab LT1 with 65K miles on it for 14,500. Truck in great shapr just needed front brakes and that pesky steering shaft replaced. Body was great with no dings or dents anywhere which surprised me for a black in color truck.

So got it home and it is great. :pimp:
