Replacing Interior Wood & Metal Trims

I really like the look of the LTZ Carbon Interior pieces as opposed to the SLT wooed grain that I have in mine.

 

Any advice on how to get these?

Have them wrapped with Carbon Fiber, Probably a lot cheaper and you can always go back to original if you want / need to.

 

Here’s some pics of mine, I had the metal carbon fiber look but still wrapped them with Carbon Fiber vinyl. i own a graphics company so I have access to the material and can do the work myself. I did all of tis on my driveway at home after work.

Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about this. The material I used is 3M 1080 Black Carbon Fiber, it is pricey so you may have to shop around, small shops may not have it and if they have to special order it they will probably charge you more. If you want me to send you a piece of it so you can see it in hands I will be glad to do that too. You can stick it on one of the panels of your truck to see if you like it.’ I did all of these pieces on the truck and didn’t take any of the off and risk breaking them or any of the tabs or mounts associated with them. If you like it and think you can do it yourself I can sell you enough to do whatever you are thinking of changing at my cost.

The door handles are the easiest parts, the are nice and flat, and you can use the scarp left over to do the steering wheel trim!

No special prep, just clean everything really well with rubbing alcohol, lay it down, trim it out. It is easier and faster than it looks. The difficult parts at he ones that have compound radius’….. steering wheel trim, back door trim corners, console top. Just use a blow dryer to soften it up and work it around these in small bits and it will come out fine! The DIC surround trim comes off real easy, so I did that off the truck which made it easier to do and you can tuck vinyl behind the piece which ensures that you won’t see any of the original if you make a cut that is too close. Hit me up with any questions / problems.

It is easy to work with and the hardest part of doing it is to take your time and be good with an xacto knife. I own a graphics company so I have access to all this vinyl wrap material and am used to doing it. Some of the pieces were removed some were done in place. I found some 3M wrap in the pattern I like on eBay. Y'all think it's the same good quality? Doesn't seem too expensive on there.
