Safe Advice

The only suggestion I would make is to get a larger safe than you think you will need.

You may find a lady friend that has her own arsenal.....if your lucky.

Mine is filled to the brim with guns, wife's jewelry, cameras, binoculars, papers, etc, etc.

I am willing to bet, also, that your gun collection may continue to grow.

I bought this Winchester 24 Gun Safe from Tractor Supply - http://www.tractorsupply.com//ProductDisplay?langId=-1&errorViewName=ProductDisplayErrorView&parent_category_rn=&categoryId=25&urlRequestType=Base&productId=20742&storeId=10151&top_category=&urlLangId=&catalogId=10001

It is a badass safe for the price. If you watch their ad you will see it on sale for $599.99!!! Hard to beat a 24 gun safe with electronic lock pad and fire protection for under 6 bills!!! When unlocked and open u can lift the door off for easier moving in and/or out of house!!! Only thing I would add is lights and a humidifier if needed in your area!!!

Check around to see if any of the safe distributors in your area are having scratch and dent sales. Even the big-box stores. Some times they get dinged in shipping, farm/ranch stores usually have some deals also.

Chris,

The Costco safe's are Chinese I think. But they are inexpensive and will keep out a teenager or common burglar bent on stealing your guns. Down in Carson, there's a safe maker named Sportsman, just south of the 91 freeway off of Paramount blvd. But the Costco 599 safe will still be cheaper.

Love that Winchester one. Once the wife and I buy a home, I'm going big and solid for a gun safe.

My advise whenever this comes up: Insurance first, Safe second.

You can insure your whole collection for not much $$$ and be protected from a thief with a bobcat, a fire as hot as the sun, or a tornado dropping your safe into a lake.

After insurance the safe is just to keep unauthorized users out and provide a climate controlled environment. No need to spend several grand trying to guess which event your guns will need protection from.

It is just to keep them away, not many people go to the back rooms of my house. I have renter's insurance that I think covers them in theft

Do they have a website? And where is the 91 freeway?
