2001 silverado 2500hd exhaust

hey,

I have a 2001 silverado 2500 hd 6.0, ext cab 6.5 box. I bought this truck and the guy cut the original system and put a 2.25 inch piping with cats ,muffler, don't ask me why. the muffler finally is blown , so i want to put the stock 3" system from to back because the truck drives like shit, nothing like my 2 other 6.0 L trucks.

 

I found one complete system from an 2006 sierra 2500 HD 6.0 6.5 box. but its a crew cab for 300 bucks complete. does anyone know if it will fit a ext cab . I'am thinking everything is the same but they might have to shorten the pipe in front of the muffler. the down pipes and cat position should be the same i am thinking

Should be EXACTLY the same just longer pipes.

The intermediate pipes will be a bit long. Better bang for your buck to go aftermarket with MBRP

as long as the down pipe's and muffler/tail are the same , the shop should be able to shorten the middle pipes

Out of curiosity, why go back stock instead of replacing it with a better aftermarket system?

I looked at a magnaflow setup. cats 120 each, muffler is 220. then all piping plus the labor prob a lot more money all done.

I can get this front to back for 300 then just pay shop to hang it, weld new hangers to the truck

Okay I have a 2001 silverado 2500hd with a 8.1L in it and wanna put SLP loudmouth on it and I was wondering if the SLP will have enough pressure for the engine ? Lmk

$120 for a cat, that's pretty cheap. Like, very limited amount of real working elements inside. It's technically a cat, maybe actually works as one for a year or two.

I have a 2000 Chevy 2500 my muffler was rotted out I had my guy fab a "y" then just do a 3" straight pipe from the y back and I did a 5 inch tip sounds really good
