My order was placed on 2/12/14 and I'm still at 1100 status.

Picked mine up yesterday just shy of 16 weeks from the date I ordered (10/22/2013) the wait sucked big time but it was worth it very very nice truck.

Ordered a crew cab 4x4 with the 6.2 four weeks ago and it's in transit to the dealership now. I was surprised that it was moving this fast.

I'm curious how the trucks are built. For an example, the powder coater I use waits until he gets a load of black parts, then shoots everything at once. Are the trucks built in any type of order? Per model, color, trim level?

it might explain why some customers have their trucks sooner then others.........

Nearly all vehicles are batch painted. Meaning they will run 10, 20 or so reds, then switch to black, etc. This saves a TON of paint which isn't cheap. As for trim, not really. There are no "batch" runs for trim. Constraints? Sure. If there are no 6.2's available, guess who's truck isn't getting built?
