Windshield Washer Quit...

Recommended Posts

The driver side windshield washer stopped working on my `03. I checked the nozzle and it isn`t frozen over and I can`t see  that the hose is kinked or popped off anywhere. I haven`t really gotten a chance to delve into it too deeply as the weather has gone to ####. Has anyone else had this happen? It`s gotta be something simple. I`d like to avoid the hassle of taking it back to the dealer if it`s a simple fix.

Consider pumping out the "blue juice" and replacing it with either Prestone De-Icer or Rain-X De-Icer.

I did just that the day I brought my truck and van home from the dealership.  I run the rain-x deicer year round.

Like I said in my original post, I don`t think it`s frozen. It stopped working in mid stroke....can I say that? Anyway, it`s supposed to get above freezing this afternoon so I guess time will tell.

There is probably a "T" connector in the line somewhere.  Take it apart and see if it is plugged by blowing through it.

If I had to guess, I would say a small piece of plastic debri got in there during the manufacturing process.  The "junk" is most likely lodged in the nozzle on the wiper arm.

I know this reply doesn't cure your problem, but it's a good possibillity of what the problem is caused by.

Well, problem solved. It started working again this afternoon. I guess it was frozen after all.  :D  Thanks for all the replies.
