I just bought a new LT Crew Cab demo, had 3900 miles on it. I love it!!! I have the mylink, and I was wondering if I could add the park assist? I had it in all my previous trucks. I know in years past you could add it as an accessory after the fact.

Also is there any timetable on the mylink app store, will the 2014s be supported or would that be a 2015 exclusive only??

Ahh. Mine has a few sensors in the bumper (I think 4). I would think you could add them easy enough although with the camera I just use that and ignore the beeps to be honest. Seems like a nice gimic but not really practical. However, it did save me a whopping 30 bucks on my insurance. Money is money though.

I would think it could be added they used to have the kits on prior models. I am sure you would just have to have it enabled in the software once they were installed. GM may release a kit who knows seems they are not consistant when it comes to things like this

I doubt its easy (read: cheap) to get an OEM system installed on a truck without the sensors. Because you'd need all the wiring, the actual sensors, the bumpers, and then have the BCM flashed to account for the new hardware.

What He said. Only worse. Sensors are about $60 each plus control module another $60. Park Assist switch. Lots of wiring. Then the dreaded programming which probably cannot be done. Oh ya. can you drill the holes accurately enough.

The system is very sensitive.

Use the camera.

Rear park assist comes with the "LT PLUS" package.

I asked my dealer approx. a month ago about adding front parking assist to my truck for my wife since I already have the rear. They told me it wasn't available yet, which I think is a load.

It isn't a load, as said the hardware is not the issue. The issue is the required BCM programming and the fact GM took the back door when the new truck flipped over to the new GM global computer system. The factory system comes up on the screen on the dash, so that really is going to be the main issue.

I'm lost how is them switching to the GM global computer system an issue, can't they just go in an unlock it for the trucks? Couldn't they do that before?
