I clamped mine several weeks back however, I recently took it off.

Damn...

I'm not sure the HP gain would be enough to counter the added weight, lol. Sure isn't going anywhere though.

Looks large in the pic but actually it's not that big. They are aluminum brackets, lol... probably don't weight much more than a stainless clamp. I didn't notice much if any HP gain with it on so I removed it. Edited by 14LTZZ71

take the clamp off, or took the whole flapper off?

Clamp off, didn't see much hp gain with it on.

I was just messin with ya, it probably actually helps V4 (AFM) mode by creating a little more back pressure. Could you tell a difference in how often/long V4 was activated with the clamp on and off?

Price is $200 + $149.00 the tips = $349.00 higher thru GM then thru Borla Direct- who sells at MSRP.

Yowzers! $1400 + tax for a cat-back system? No thanks. That's about double what I want to pay.

I wonder if the stainless GMC tips will fit in place or the Borla ones? My Denali already came with one, and a second would only be less than $100 instead of the $150 for Borla' s.

The system would come with tips.

They are $1249 direct from Borla or from the chevy accessories website for CrewCab Shortbed.

UPDATE: I took my truck to a local exhaust shop and chopped off that valve, sounds nice! Not bad for $30.

Mine doesn't have that orange silicone piece on the spring. I wonder if it's there to prevent the valve from eventually starting to rattle?

I think that may be a little added rotational weight to keep the valve a little more steady when being pulsed by the exhaust, I could be wrong though because the red color kind of throws me off.

Ok. $1350 after tax. Still way more than I want to pay. I got my Yukon Corsa catback for ~$750, but that was 10 years ago. I'm hoping I can get another one for close to that amount.
