Non bose factory nav in bose avalanche

Hello

i came here from reading an old post from 2004http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/42614-adding-nav-without-boseis-it-possible/ looking for answers to a related question. we are working on a 2012 avalanche which had no headunit everything is intact in the vehicle, wiring haness, connectors etc . we purchased a headunit part # 23180744 the truck has rpo uqa but no y91 or y92 code the amp installed appears to be the lux style no connectors on the ends all hu functions operate normal but i have no sound. chimes work speaker test thru scan tool works but no sound when using hu unit whether radio,cd whatever, is there a way to make this work thru programming thanks for any help

The link below describes something like you're dealing with I believe. They talk about two different Bose systems/amps, regular Bose and Bose luxury surround. Maybe not interchangeable...

There are also references to the need for access to some GM program database and a Tech2 to activate properly.
