This is what torque management is. It can be tuned out for better throttle response. GM Engineers tune the truck like this so it gets better gas mileage.

Actually, Torque Management has nothing to do with throttle response. TM is used to increase the life of your transmission and make shifts smooth - it retards ignition timing during shifts.

That's funny, I can remove engine torque management and have 0 throttle lag.

LMAO-make shift points smooth....not!

My question is did YOU read this and if you did, it's perfectly understandable if you don't understand it all because there is a lot to absorb. When either one if them speak, I tend to get a headache trying to take it all in.

Torque Management is a broad term but you are correct is saying that it is designed to help drivetrain life BUT.... In some cases it controls throttle to do it, which ALSO makes it the nanny controlling the mushy pedal. I want my truck to go when I command it and am perfectly capable of my own torque management.

It was surprising that you quoted both those guys that I have been learning from for many years.

I have driven a 14 equipped like my 10 and there is no comparison these new trucks just have it togethet

Throttle lag is a feature of torque management for sure. I use HPT as well and it all correlates together. GM uses torque tables that are ramped from 0ft lbs of torque to 500ft lbs of torque that ramp up with throttle position and speed.

One of the common tuning mods it to max the cells out so the vehicle doesn't ramp in the power.

Full throttle these new trucks will kill the old ones. This lag is tuned into these trucks to help gas mileage. Yes it's annoying but it helps. Full throttle is full throttle. It will move when you put the hammer down.

And If that's not enough response... MAP A
