Height/Width of 2014's?

I was wondering on the height of the new 2014 Chevy Silverado regular cab. I have the stock 17 inch tires (4X4 1500 model) and the book specs states 74 (6.17 feet) inches. I was wondering if that included the on-star antenna on the roof? I would like to get the exact measurements. Is there any different in the height of the double and crew cabs with the same specs? Good to know if you have to use parking garages in cities or motels etc..

 

They also claim the truck is wider than previous models? I can't seem to find out how much this is. Anyone have these specs? I am guessing way less than an inch?

Best way for exact measurements is to get out the measuring tape and check against your vehicle. Not sure if it includes the antenna or not, but 74.13 is listed (for yours). As for width, 2014 is 80 w/o mirrors, 2013 according to edmunds, is 79.9" and 80" for the '14. So, a whole .1" wider. There is up to 1/2" height difference between the various 14 models according to the first link. I would assume this to be caused by CC Standard Box weighing more than the RCSB, therefore "lower"

I guess they listed the trucks 4x4 for 1WT and 2WT height at 74.13 (6.18). The OnStar (antenna) is an option on the 1WT where it standard equipment on 2WT. They have the same measurements. I am guessing the antenna is not included in the height. The best way is to actually measure it. I figure you need at least 6'6" garages openings or mostly higher on the safe side and don't hit any bumps.

 

It is surprising how big the truck look when you enter a public parking garage. City parking can be tough at times.

 

I am wondering if anyone feels the .1 difference in width. When you look out the windshield it does look wider for some reason.

im pretty sure the antenna is not the highest point of the truck. the antenna is on the "downward" slope of the roof and is only about 1.5" tall. although the radio antenna is another story. went somewhere and had to park in a parking garage and that antenna was smacking every single concrete beam. kinda a gut-wrenching feeling even though you cleared the maximum height measurement before even entering the garage.

I just fit on parking garage with 6' 7" clearance. Had about 6" to spare

 

And the antenna is higher than the cab. A few times it clipped a beam overhead. But the cab never hit.

Was it the OnStar antenna? Any damage to the antenna? I thought 6'6" would clear everything. What are the size of your tires? Sorry to hear about your troubles.

No. Sorry. It was the AM/FM antenna.

 

No damage anywhere. Just barely flicked the AM/FM antenna going thru the garage once or twice.

I had 4-5" to spare in a 7' garage the other night. Crew cab 4x4 with 2.5" and 34" tires

The 2014 is a bit more on the square side with a little less black trim around the edges. It does seem to give it a much wider feel. My friend has a 2012 and the first thing he said when he rode in mine was the view was much wider and squarer.

My truck is all stock. I have the 20" wheels and tires, oem size.

I have 17 inch tires so I should not have any issues with the antenna in a 6'7" parking garage. Three inch difference.

Well just because the wheels are 3" difference in size, the overall diameter of the tires are probably the same or similar on trucks with 17-18-20-22 inch wheels.
