Load rating D vs E ?

I am currently looking at new tires for my truck and I always used load rating D tires on my trucks. But now looking at tires all I can find in my size or brand I am looking at is load rating E. My question is how is the ride and handling of the E rated tires? I really like how my truck handles and drives now and don't want it to ride like a brick and the wife will give me crap if it does also.

I have been looking at;
Toyo AT2
Nitto Terra Grappler
Nitto Trail Grappler
Hankook ATM
and BFG at with white letters.

I have always been a fan of the BFG at with white letters out but might be looking at something new this time around. And I know everyone hates white letters out but everyone has there own opinion.

The load range E are fine. I don't notice much of a change in ride from my 285's on my 2000 to the 275's on my 2010

I noticed a change, but it was more likely from going from Wrangler ST's to BFG A/T's than D to E...... The dealer did have a point though, if the D tire is within your towing capacity there really is no need to go to the E.... Personally, I like the Piece of mind of the E rated tire though.

I buy LR E tires for my trucks, not because of towing or load capability, but because of puncture resistance while off-road. I've seen all of the camp vehicles up on rocks with the wheels off and one vehicle taking all the wheels and tires to town for flats with B and C rated tires.
