Love the 6l in my 2009. Really make you smile with a good tune

One weak spot of the vmax trucks of the gmt800 are the 4l60 based transmissions. Sure they are upgraded to the 4lxx ..., but it's still a 700r4 based trans. They do give you better gas mileage over the 4L80 trans found in the 2500 HD 6.0L setup, but I believe another possible setup for you to look at are the 2500HD gasser trucks.

Thanks for the responses guys. The reason I'm not looking into a GMT-900 truck is because I'm on a limited budget. I am currently driving an 04 Ram 1500 4.7 and it is a decent when unloaded but the moment I put a 7,000 pound trailer behind it, it becomes unbelievably slow almost unsafe when merging. Granted I don't tow often at all, but when I do I want to have the power there. I am also a Ford guy but I have driven the F150 with the 5.4 triton and it is almost as bad as my current truck. I would like to have a diesel but I'm still in school so that's not practical or feasible right now.

Plus, I personally like the style of the 05-06 gm trucks better than the new ones. I think they're both good looking trucks though.

What do you guys think of this truck? http://www.olsensautosales.com/2006_GMC_Sierra%201500_ATLANTIC_IA_225690547.veh

Nice and it could have a 3.73 or 4.10. either or, you will be good for 7000 pounds. I almost bought a truck similar. Same options and color, but a 5.3, but I am single and have no kids so I chose bed space over the larger cab.

It does look nice. The only problem is that it is in Iowa and I am in New Jersey lol. That's $1,500 in shipping plus taxes and registration fees it would end up being a $19,000 truck which is a lot in my mind for a truck with 150,000 miles.

Looks like one sweet ride. One thing to look for on any truck with round step tubes that return to the body is to look for wear/rust where the rear of the tube curves back toward the body. They deflect rocks straight up into the rocker panel.Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
