audiokat Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Just got a 2014 Sierra Denali. I'm having some minor issues with the Bluetooth. Two things 1. I can't browse artists, etc.. from the center screen. If I hook up through usb I can but not on Bluetooth. Also the artwork doesn't show up via USB but does on Bluetooth. 2. From time to time there seems to be dropouts via usb. I can live with and I'm assuming this is what it is but just in case. Thanks for the help.
fondupot Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 1. You wont be able to browse artists via Bluetooth with an iPhone due to apples strict bluetooth API. Same with artist artwork. 2. Dunno what to say here. I haven't experienced this issue.
Silverado-Hareek Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 The manual says (paraphrasing) "to take full advantage of the infotainment system and the iPhone, you need to plug it in via USB." I think with bluetooth it just provides a wireless streaming connection but to actually browse artists and such, you need to plug it in.
dodgehemi0 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I have the same truck with same phone and same issue. Manual does say that iPhone needs to be plugged in unlike other phones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Skidoojc Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 When I plug in my iPhone 5 it does nothing but charge. What a pain. My iPod is beyond slow to connect. Anyone know of software changes to help this issue?

Anyone know of software changes to help this issue? Your dealer can tell you if there is a software update available and they can install it for you. Make sure your iPhone is up-to-date as well on your end. I can't add much more than that though I listen primarily to XM or CD's. I don't have any music on my iPhone and it's a work phone without unlimited data so streaming isn't an option for me.
KARNUT Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I have one of the oldest IPods made, thats the device I listen to the most. It will only work by wire and has the best sound. I have the new Iphone too, I listen to Pandora on it so far only with Bluetooth all work well. I agree the controls are the slowest ive seen but I can live with it. As far as what I can see on the screen, The only view I care about when I drive is the one in front of me. If I don't like a song I hit the button and change it, I don't need to see it.
Plwtwo Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Anyone have their Bluetooth just go off??? Ive been Bluetooth connected since I bought it, today It never starts playing, and can't change song/artist/etc, switch to radio and back nothing, radio off/on nothing, iPhone off/on nothing. So I open settings on my phone and it doesn't show GMCintellilink. And will not reconnect! So drive the truck for :30 minutes or so- never connects. Later in the day I get in crank it, still will not find it.. So Drive for :15/20 mins go in to eat, :45 min later come and it appears on my iPhone and within a few moments it Pairs up, works fine again. Ive had it lock up a few times before but this is crazy!

Bluetooth is a fickle connection. If that happenes again, delete your phone out of the system and also out of your phone and repair. I've only had to do this maybe once in my 7 months of ownership Also, if you recently updated your iPhone it could make the bluetooth need to be repaired. I've ran into that issue with multiple vehicles.
Prdtrgttr Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Help the Canadians out a bit...get a Blackberry. Seriously, though, the new BB10 operating system is unreal, mine works flawlessly in my 14.
