Looks great knowing what went into it. It will be very sound for many years to come. Sorry if I missed it, but why is the trailer wire hookup under bumper? Just easier than drilling a mount in bumper?

There's no hole in the bumper for one. They did move it up into the bumper on the GMT900 trucks, but I haven't seen a GMT800 like that yet.

I meant to ask how you got the bed off and moved without scratching or denting the fenders. Did you use a portable winch in your garage to lift it , drive under it and lower it onto the trailer? The bed is ~ 250lbs?

Not much progress lately. I painted some of the underside of the cab on Saturday with Chassis Saver. Getting ready to call around on prices for an engine rebuild, and used engines at the yards.

 

As for the bed, my Dad and I both lifted it up off the frame with the bumper off, and sat it upright on it's back behind the truck. Wasn't too bad lifting it.

The set i got is mentioned in here. In the description are the part numbers. A USB cable needs to be cut and soldered to a regulator.

That's pretty cool. I already have one of these though. Doesn't look as cool or clean, but it gets the job done.
