Silverado 1500 5.3 4x4 hard shifting from 1 to 2

My truck has about 250 miles on it. Today, it started hard shifting from 1 to 2. I'm not a hard driver, and rarely take it above 2K RPM.

 

I noticed today it has a pause and a lurch between 1st and 2nd gear. It does not matter if it is in 2WD, Auto or 4WD.

 

Is this normal? I did not notice it earlier.

give it alittle longer than 250 miles ,,

 

poor tranny doesnt know whats goin on yet !!

Mine had a few hard shifts when I first got it and I have 2200 on the truck now and it hasn't done it for quite some time. Let everything work in a bit and you should be fine.

Once I got to 3000 or 4000 it got a lot better. I wasn't happy about it at first either, but it is no longer an issue.

This transmission uses adaptive shift profiles to learn how to shift depending on the driving conditions, on a new vehicle it is normal and takes some time before the adaptive profiles are built in the TCM.
