Compensation For Problems

Sounds like you need to enact the lemon law

But what you get with a 50K or 20K vehicle purchase is a warranty. Nothing is perfect

Lots of people with continued problems on here.

Has the dealer or GM gave anyone anything to make up for all the repeated trips to the dealer.

I'm sure you could negotiate a few hundred extra bucks off the price of a new one, I doubt you'd want it though If you've had problems with your '14. I doubt they are going to give you anything else though.

I still can't believe folks are paying 50k for a half ton truck. You can buy a nicely equipped dmax 2500 for less than that.

Sticker vs actual price paid is one thing

I paid $47k for my High Country, a Duramax with Nav, Sunroof, etc like my HC would have been $54k after all rebates and dealer incentives and it would have been a 2014 GMT-900 at that. I paid $50k for my Duramax and it is nowhere near as well equipped as my HC.

The OP's words: "I paid 50,000 dollars for my freaking truck..." Maybe I misunderstood...? It's none of my business what anyone buys or how much they spend, but it's hard for me to understand. I realize guys spend tons on trucks/cars, and that's fine, but it's not for me. It's fair to say that I put a lower priority/value on that sort of thing.

That's cool, vehicles are sort of my addiction. I have no problem dropping a decent chunk of change on a vehicle if I like it. When you do, you expect it to be right though, so I feel the OPs frustration.

Just about anything "big ticket" that people but you expect it to be right. That does not always happen unfortunately. As stated above that's why new items like these have a warranty.

This thread went to junk... Anyone want to actually answer the OP's question?

My thoughts... they aren't going to compensate you for anything. All car's and trucks have issues... this 2014 isn't any worse than other first year vehicles....regardless of what you read here. Remember.. the sample of folks on this forum represents about a small fraction of 2014 GM truck owners. And also remember.. when people come to forums.. it generally to complain.

that being said... I no problems with little recalls, or small warranty issues that may pop up. But I do have an issue with being inconvenienced. I would be perfectly fine if the dealer would drop off a loner truck at my house and take mine to do repairs. The whole inconvenience of driving to the dealer, etc, etc... it is what bothers me the most.

Yes i understand. It sucks because I work nights and lose sleep when I have to continue to drive back to the dealer.

The reason I was asking is this was the 3rd time at the dealer for the seats. The truck is fixed now per the service manager and Im supposed to pick it up tomorrow. He said he cant give me a different truck but he can do other things to make up for this. I said like give me an extended warranty and he said yes that we could talk about it Monday when I pick up the truck.
