OnStar seems to be disabled

Hi.

 

I am a new member of this forum - Thanks for accepting me - as well as a new owner of a used 2007 GMC yukon.

 

i bought the truck in march and i just love everything about it. just some small issues....

 

since i bought it i never had the onstar light working, i pushed all the buttons trying to get connected but to no avail.

 

I even tried setting it up online with GM but they still needed me to finish the activation by pressing the onstar buttons....

 

is it the fuse? i dont know where its located, is the module itself disconnected? dont know where that it either.

 

If anybody could help me i will greatly appreciate it.

Maybe the previous owner was paranoid and disabled it?

Look in the owners manual and identify the fuse, check if it is pulled.

It's under the hood. Labeled "info TMNT" or something to that effect. I pulled the fuse because I'm paranoid ...

 

#47 on the block.

Ok so here is an update.

 

I changed the gas cap for $40 cleared the code and all is fine now. I guess there was no need to change the vent valve. At least my truck has some new parts ......
