ONStar antenna retaining water

Recommended Posts

I notice last night when I washed my truck that the OnStar antenna retained a lot of water under the seal that meets the roof. I moved it a bit and water just kept running out. I would think that would cause a problem down the road. anyone esle notice this?

There's been few people on here where the water was actually leaking through and down the sun visors. GM just replaces the gasket

One day after work I opened my driver's door to find a nice puddle in the floor mat. It had rained really hard that day while I was at work. I traced the water up the inside of the left side of the dash, and then up the A pillar. The headliner was wet just above the A pillar trim, but no where else. I brought it to the dealership last week and they couldn't find anything anywhere. I was with them in the water bay for at least a half hour and we couldn't get water in the truck anywhere. They were suspecting the sunroof, but we also tried the OnStar antenna. Nothing. No clue. I just have to keep an eye on it.

20bowtie14,

Did you have yours fixed and how do you know the are replacing the gasket because when you look at the design it doesn't look like the gasket is replacable.

Let us know if you have any info. Here is an ebay link that shows the antenna and the seals http://www.ebay.com/itm/191477108512?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

This is also the same issue as these threads http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/158522-water-leak-in-the-roof/page-4?do=findComment&comment=1558814 and http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/167655-condensation-on-the-inside-of-windshield/ and some others I found.

Hello GM are you following this issue or will everyone have sinky mildewed trucks in about a year???
