Single stage Airbag

Is it possible to swap the steering wheel and driver airbag from a 2001 Silverado 1500 to a 2007+ Silverado 2500 HD or even better to a 2015 Silverado 2500/3500 with single stage airbag?

 

The connectors seems very similar, but are they the same? if yes, do the airbag will work?

Don't even think about messing with SRS , if it even works and prematurely goes off and you hurt / kill someone .... You are screwed sir

Don't even try. Just because connectors are similar doesn't mean the parts are. And am I understanding that you want to put an old single stage airbag in a new truck? Why?

This is simple, if the part numbers are the same, then the part is the same. Everything else past that point is completely up to you, and is completely your responsibility.

 

Personally, I would never put my life in the hands of some cute name on a forum. And even considering acting on a suggestion you got from the internet in regards to SRS should scare you.

man, I didnt thought about the risk of messing with SRS... well I think I will stay with my old oem steering wheel...
