Upgrade WT Radio?

my work truck is a 2014 Silverado base vortec truck and I love it...but the radio is well lack luster to say the least, can I swap out the base radio unit with one of the higher end ones?

someone on here did that. I believe it was in the modification sub section. it is in the thread where someone is offering the navigation software to be installed in non-nav vehicles. if im not mistaken someone in there got the 8" screen and the nav.

I would love to do the full nav unit but its not really in the budget and its a work truck after all.lol...I just would like to get the step above the base unit so I can install the factory xm radio shark fin head and be able to tune into xm radio/sirus radio while driving

It will run you about $1500 + BCM programming. Excluding cost of tearing dash apart and installing new radio (which I think also requires another box to be purchased)

 

There is a company on here...White's Tuning, I think? They do the BCM programming.

 

Also, Alpine is coming out with direct fit units that will install cleanly.
