Throttle lag solution (?)

This is interesting.. I'm experiencing lag as well with acceleration and it's very annoying. I'd do just about anything to make it drive better.

I found on my 2014 Silverado that the metal bracket the gas pedal assembly mounts to flexes when you push the pedal down. So I put a rubber shim between the bracket and the firewall. Now only the pedal moves when you push it. The throttle response feels better.

This makes sense. Granny drive it when it's new and it'll act sluggish. Drive it like you stole it and the driveability parameters will be different when they are stored. I've seen this in sports cars, so why not trucks? Pull your ECM fuses for 30 mins or so, then drive it like you stole it.

Works for me.

Harleys work this way too. If you want it to be powerful, nail it from new.

There are no trims or adaptive values stored for the throttle response or position in the ECM, only the short term fuel trims and long term fuel trims are learned. The only other thing that uses adaptive values is the TCM for shifting.

So yes, snake oil and false hope if you think just because you reset the ECM and drive it hard the throttle response will change permanently. It is completely coded into the ECM based off of throttle input, expected torque/hp and a plethora of other variables.
