4.8l VS 5.3l on '98-01

My dad has 2006 4.8 with what I believe to be 3:08 gears and he hasn't complained. He tows and hauls light loads often but luckily he's very calm so the lack of power isn't a big deal.

 

And can get 25mpg on the highway!

 

I forgot to mention that its also a 4x4...

Mine was a 5 speed so maybe that made up for some of the difference. Then again it was lifted and sitting on 35's too. Who knows.

That could be it, I have a manual cruze and when I drove my sisters auto cruze with the same motor it felt liken a dog

I don't think they made a 3.08 back then, I think it was a 3.23.. Not much better though
