Possible New Recall 7-1-14 with Gauges I was told?

Took my Double Cab Silverado today for oil change and tire rotation, figured I'd wait on it, since my dealership had express lube bay. Three and a half hours later I'm still waiting, so i go check with the service writer. He tells me that they applied the update to the transfer case and there was another one called peek into odometer, that was causing trouble, said it would half install and then quit. After four hours I had to go, with my truck, since they did not offer me a loaner. Now my speedometer and all other info is gone in the DIC, no turn signal, nothing works on the steering wheel controls, airbag warning light is on, traction control light is on.

Anyone have any trouble getting the update for the odometer update???? Any Ideas what they have to do to fix the problem and get the update installed????

You're dealership is terrible. They should have kept your truck, and given you a loaner.

I never wait for my truck when its at the dealer. I always have a loaner vehicle ready and waiting. Dunno if that is a GMC/Buick dealership thing vs a Chevy dealership tho.

think it has to do with the dealer and area. In my area... it's impossible to get a loner from the GMC dealer unless you truck is staying overnight. They have a shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up..

The peak in odo programing is a service bulletin that is only covered while under base warranty. I just had mine done today and the t-case recall.

I Went to My Dealership To get My Oil Change Done And They Installed the Service Update For the "peek in the Odometer"

i came out of the Dealer ship very upset the have updated a new theme to it plain White theme.

does anybody has this problem ?

Can't you just change it back? My radio has a theme setting with several different options available. The update probably just put it back to the default setting. Then again, I think I remember hearing that the GMC Sierras don't have the optional themes that are available on a Silverado....

i like the old look

They did the update for my Sierra on Monday....I did not notice any difference. Color scheme is the same. I would take it back and see if they messed something up.

I was thinking the same thing. My parking brake works great and I'm not due for another oil change until 4,000 more miles. My plan is to just get them to do the recall then when I do my oil change/tire rotation and hopefully they have these recall kinks worked out and the dealer has done a bunch of them by then. I'm tired of having to constantly go back to the dealer every week for something. I bought a new vehicle to avoid having to constantly fix it. I work a job where I need a functioning vehicle and I can't afford to constantly lose time taking it in for repairs. If I knew I'd have to go to the dealer every week I would have waited and bought a 2015 or just bought the Toyota Tacoma like I originally planned.

I don't know what's the deal with the dealership

I soon as I got in my truck I notice the theme change I try to look around and change it but I can't it's fustraiting because you ask them why all those changes or recalls , and they can't explain a thing. They need to hire well trained and professional technicians. I would defiantly contact GMC and Ask them what's going on

I would think they could start doing all these software updates over the air... the technology has been there for years. Kinda of like your computer and windows updates.. it just happens automatically. Anytime there is a new update, they should tell you via onstar automated message and apply the update when you are in park. Sounds simple enough

Yea the 2015 model year with the 4g software lol. Ours aren't compatible.

Hi guys first post I took my SLE in yesterday for the transmission coolant line recall and when I got my truck back my speedomter cluster was changed I'm so upset mine used to be the black/red theme after I brought it to their attention they would not change it back for me

well guy i just find out what the deal is my dealership installed the wrong software on it, they installed the Silverado Software i noticed cause the small screen pop up the chevy logo meanwhile the big screen poped the gmc logo

My Odometer cluster screen looks just like it too.
