Possible New Recall 7-1-14 with Gauges I was told?

So just want to add to thread since seeing many of the problems that many incurred. I thought by November any problems would be worked out. I had my truck in for oil change and tire rotation. While there I also had the transfer case update done, no problems. They also tried to complete the gauge cluster update. Did not take the updates so left everything dead like mentioned earlier, DIC, Interior warning lights, odometer, interior turn signal interior indicators, steering wheel controls, etc.. GM had to send a new module which will be taken care of tomorrow. Just an inconvenience but I am confident in my dealership and they will get it done right. Of course hindsight is twenty/twenty I would have passed on the update had I caught your posts prior to my visit, I didn't know this one was out there to research.

While my dealer took a while to get the "peek in" gauge cluster recall to download due to timeouts as they were downloading it, once they got a good load, it was applied without error. So, some of these updates were successful...just to add to the research.

So to give everyone a final update on my previous situation. I am fortunate to have a great local dealership. They received the overnighted module from GM and had no problems with the installation and upload. While a slight inconvenience everyone stepped up to resolve quickly. I see no adverse effects from this update or the transfer case update.

Hey z71 chevy,

We apologize the manual brake control lever in your Silverado isn't functioning the same since your update. Have you notified your dealer since discovering this? We'd be happy to contact them on your behalf. Please send us a PM if you'd like to discuss this matter further.

You just need to check the box for the brake controller in the DIC. Scroll through the menu, you'll find it.

My issue is that the speedometer doesn't always read the same speed as the info screen. It often seems off. Does anyone else have this issue?

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has this UGLY theme. So does this mean I should just take it back to the dealer? I've been contemplating this because it really bugs me that my truck doesn't even have GMC colors! :banghead:
