my first new truck - 2014 SLE Crew cab

Hello everyone,

i finally bought and picked up my first bran new vehicle, i was looking for another CTS but decided i should finally get a truck to tow my boat rather than borrow one all the time. i almost picked up a 14 Camaro SS a few months ago but the sales manager at my dealership talked me out of it, he knows im loyal to their dealership and wouldnt consider new elsewhere and used i am extremely picky with, they really treat me well so a sale pushed a couple months to him means retaining a customer who is now on their 4th vehicle in 10 yrs from them and all 3 previous have been traded in. They let me take a Camaro SS that was a demo for a bit to see if its what i wanted but decided as a daily driver in Canada not the best idea for all 4 seasons and also when i want to go fast and play around (or save gas now lol) i just hop on my crotch rocket.

After driving the Sierra for only 2 days and about 500km i couldnt be happier, i cant believe how much i really missed driving a truck...you really can just go anywhere you want without worrying about potholes or bad terrain. shes got cloth power seats, fogs, 8" mylink with reverse cam...i think those are the only upgrades in it but im not really sure, it also has the 3.42 gears and the obvious tubular OEM running boards, i believe the tow package i got is standard (hitch and 2 light outputs) and i didnt get the trailer brakes control, i dont need it..i think all the other stuff is standard thats in it. i got the V8 5.3 because its got a better fuel rating on the highway than the v6 (**cough**....good excuse right?) and personally i just wanted the v8... i really dont need it for the type of driving and towing ill be doing. they had a black Z71 that i was looking at, it had the center console rather than the seat but it turned out to have the V6 so i passed and honestly the stealth grey i got was my first choice in paint that i wanted.

the dealer said they can set me up with some aftermarket rims and tires when im ready (maybe a level lift as well but ill install it myself unless it may become a future a warranty issue then ill let them do it and not worry about it for the extra $100..), ive never had a vehicle stay on stock rims longer than 2 months, i just want to decide what type of tires im going to put on them and if im going to run a dedicated summer/offroad style 20" rim/tire setup and snows on stockers or something i can use in all conditions...no rush though so ill wait a little.

First im going to get a tonneau cover from them but im shopping around for a make and model that i want(they can order anything i want and i get it under msrp), i want a hard cover that isnt too tricky to take off because i plan on picking up a dirt bike or quad for next summer (part of the reason i went with a truck), and able to take it off when hunting (again another event i borrow trucks for the last few yrs)

Here she is!

they had a few SS verts over the last couple months at my dealership, great deals on them but i didnt want the ragtop, i wanted a sunroof....personal preference.

I almost had a ZL1 but couldn't wait and mine came available at a great price couldn't pass it up. My truck is definitely more useful but the car is more fun :)

I believe the flashing red light is the automatic headlamp sensor. It's on page 6-3 in the owner's manual. The headlamp switch has to be set to "auto".

ya thats what i thought too, but i noticed it flashing red when the truck was turned off locked and in my driveway.

usually that is where GM puts the auto headlight sensor.
