Contemplating selling/trading the Camaro for another 5th gen. I really want to track a car and I can’t without rollbar modifications to the convertible. I am torn. Wife said go for it today. Go for it put a new truck purchase off a year or be financially responsible? Anyone looking for a 2012SS vert?

Well the Z/28 I was gonna go look at today sold on Tuesday.  I should have stopped on Monday.  Now I am looking at an 18 SS 1LE

The 2017 1SS convertible is down to 26k. Too bad the Screwed Up Oklahoma used car tax laws means you pay about taxes on 34,000 (Ok determines what taxes you pay, price and condition of car is irrevelent.)

A friend of mine knew someone he works with that was looking for a Camaro.  They test drove new ones and didn't like how small there were inside compared to mine.  They are happy with it.  It just clicked over 16k when I took it to them this morning.

Get on cars.com or black book, enter fake info so the dealers the send the info too won't hound you. That will give you a ballpark, so you can haggle before you mention trade in.

Hmm, thinking about looking at that 2017. 26k for a 2017 SS  Convertible. Still 2 years of bumper to bumper if it has issues, and 4 years of powertrain. Dealer closes in an hour. 

 

 

Edit: that was a huge waste of time. They wouldn't let me do a cash purchase without filling out a Credit application.

Spent an hour and a half yesterday at the dealer. Kind of a waste / slap in the face with trade. Told him I would give it some thought but the low ball offer doesn’t sit well with me. What’s crazy is my wife is still like go for it. Looking at it financially I don’t need the car I have a pretty nice car that I still like. I did sit in a 1LE and it’s nice. My son likes the backseat much more. Dammit

Drive some used ones too. They may end up being rattle traps like the 4th gen, I was in a 2017 that had a loud rattle behind the nav screen, drivers door panel, drivers small window, and somewhere on the passenger side. They are all under warranty but in the long run.....
