I have some bad news. The buffeting is returning. My own inspection suggests the mid bows have come detached after the repair. I will contact the dealer tomorrow.

Darn! Your case is the only reason why I'm still hanging on hoping that ours can be corrected. I've yet to drop it off the body shop as we've been too busy the last few weeks as they can't guarantee they can provide same size vehicle as loaner. Since hearing this, I'm now leaning towards my original plan and just taking a hit and trading it in.

I have to believe they can build a truck that doesn't do this. I will try to get them to build me another. It may be that yours doesn't have whatever issue ours does and the fix sticks. To me this is one of those things that has to run its course.

I might just wait for the article and then call my dealer... just for the heck of it.

Not to be negative, but do you think it'll have any info in it that we don't already have? Or, more to the point, that it would give any leverage to negotiations for buy-back?

If this was a mechanical issue that an updated part could fix, or a software issue, I would feel a lot better about a solution being forthcoming, but this appears to be something endemic in the design of the vehicle. If there is a magic bullet, I hope they find it soon and it is an easy fix, but you'd have to think they would've found it by now and wouldn't be spending 40-50 man hours per vehicle trying a bunch of fixes that don't fix anything...

I could be a design issue or an execution of the design. It could be a mechanical tolerance issue. All need to be addressed at the manufacturer level. My take away is that when the truck is built properly it is great.

I have no idea what hurdles I will encounter during a buyback. It is new territory for me. I am curious to read the article. My dealer has been very helpful thus far and thus it is likely I dont need any leverage.

I didn't push to get this article so we got more information - there really is no additional information. I did it so that there was yet another avenue into GM showing how many folks are impacted by these issues.

That's how I understood it, but I thought I may have missed something when Frank wanted to read it before going back to the dealer.

Sorry for the confusion.

I think the article is a great way of bringing light to this situation, and I commend you for helping make this more public. It may also end up helping me with the issues i'm experiencing now as well.

I wish i would've found this forum/thread prior to purchasing my '15 Yukon last week, however i didn't even give a second thought to a high dollar SUV having such widespread problems. I also didn't get the vehicle over 70mph during the test drive, so everything seemed good at time of purchase. I have no other complaints at this time, and the ride has been great up until I hit 70mph. From there on up i get all the wonderful vibrations and buffeting, however mine seems somewhat cyclical. My Yukon also came with the factory 20" wheels.

With only 200 miles on her, i dropped it back off at the dealer this morning for the road force balance. If this doesn't correct the issue, i'll certainly be pushing for either a buyback or exchange (although i'm hesitant to even entertain an exchange). Allowing the dealer to go on a wild goose chase, swapping out major components on a brand new vehicle will not fly with me. Fingers crossed that the road force balance solves my problem. :fingersx:

Despite the fact I had both my 2015 Denali's repurchased, I can't stay away from this forum. I am truly rooting for you all to find a solution. If you're new to this forum and are experiencing problems, be sure to open a case number with GM immediately. It is the first step to a buyback. Good luck and can't wait to see the article!

I brought home a new Land Cruiser today...totally different vehicle but it was nice to have a quiet, vibration free ride all the way up to 80mph. Not keeping it though...3rd row seats take up tons of the cargo room which is a major issue for me.
