Just now on the news. GM recalls more than 717,000 more cars and trucks. Variety of reasons from torn airbags to bells not working. The Sierra was one mentioned. WHAT NOW!!! :banghead:

I just read an article and 2014-15 Silverados and Sierras are included:

"The latest recalls hit GM's best-selling vehicles, the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, from the 2014-2015 model years. They were among about 124,000 vehicles across eight model lines recalled because a weld on seat brackets may not have been done properly. GM said it expects that 1 percent of welds were not completed properly."

I don't think there is a permanent fix for the loose seat problem. I was going to take mine in for ANOTHER( fourth or fifth) fix. This shit is getting old . These aren't new first year design flaws with the new engines or trannys. type stuff. This is elementary type issues. I do not feel GM has our safety in mind any longer. Im trying to stay on the same team after 5 new Silverados in the last 7 years but....! Hell even my $10.00 toilet seat dosent shift around like this thing. :M16:

Yeah doubt it's the wobbly seat problem. With people fixing it with hose clamps at a spot where there are no welds, I'm thinking it's a separate issue.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the safety stuff.... I assure you they are being proactive as hell now. Ever since the shoe dropped a few month ago on those faulty switches... the flood gates have opened. The government has come down with the wrath of hell against all auto makers.. especially the big 3. This isn't just a GM thing.. every week we are seeing a record number of recalls by GM, Ford or Dodge. Just saw 700K jeeps are being recalled. Last week something like 600K fords. Just wait... it will get a lot worse soon.... they aren't screwing around.

Toyota doesn't recall until they get sued, then they blame it on the floor mats.

Well so far this new recall is not showing up for my truck but maybe it will later. I still need to do the transfer case recall. I'm due for an oil change in about 3,200 miles so I'm just going to have them address whatever is outstanding then.

If you're intrested in checking what recalls are out on your truck, go here and enter your VIN: https://recalls.gm.com/#/

Had the transfer case re-call done recently, took no time. Not a big deal.

In terms of the seat re-call, read in a article that about 1% of trucks were affected... With mass production, that's really not that bad.

This is the kind of attitude GM is counting on. Ive been in enough times personally to account for 1%.

They may be starting to make ground on the wobble seat. I took my in on Monday, and by no mean did I have a seat nearly as bad as some of the others on here, but the dealer noticed it when they took it to the service bay and I've got new seat tracks on order for both front seats. When they come in, I'll keep everyone posted on the outcome.

The seat thing is probably as simple as an assembly machine had a glitch. Or there was an error in its programming. These things happen to all manufacturers not just the big 3. The reason it seems so bad is this forum concentrates the people with bad experiences because most people don't go looking to these sites when things go right.
