New PCM already? Only 5,000 miles....

Love my truck but just the other day the check engine light came on and the "reduced engine power" kicked in. So drove back to my house and figured I would take it to the dealer in the morning. Well it wouldnt start the next morning so had to get it towed. The dealer said it threw off a few various codes. They worked on it all day today and have now concluded it needs a new PCM. Said basically nothing is wrong with it mechanically and that the computer went which was sending out erroneous problems. Anyone have any similar problems to this??

Just like a brand new iphone not working. Its a computer. It can fail regardless of mileage.
