Brake line replacement kit for 2002 Sierra

When I picked my truck up from body shop today, the brake light was on the dash and the pedal was mushy. I knew there was a bad line but the shop didn't want to do anything about it (more about that for another day.. live and learn).

I see complete kits to purchase if I wanted to do a complete repair on Amazon. Kits like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Inline-Tube-Chevr ... tended+cab

Would this fit my truck? The year matches and it says Quadrasteer compatible. However is says 2WD. I'd love to have a pre-bent kit that I can just swap in. Can anyone confirm that this would fit?

Your help is much appreciated. I'm hopeful to make this repair as soon as possible so I'd like to order this kit with much haste.

Thanks in advance.

GM makes kits. 22933211 $108.41. Pre flared, all the fittings on them, and nylon coated like the 2007+up trucks. Never seen one with rotted line 2007+up.

The only pipes the GM kits don't come with are the ones on the rear axle (the ones from the rear flex hose that go to each caliper).

Thank you for posting that up. I really appreciate it. So a kit like that would likely fit on my 2002 Sierra Denali? I don't know if the brake line configurations are different between 2002 models. I have the extended cab with standard 6.5' bed. I know it probably sounds like a stupid question. :|

Ya GM makes 66 kits depending on 2 or 4 wheel, cab and bed size, 1500, 2500 or 3500, suburban, tahoe, etc. I grabbed a VIN from a 2002 Denali on cars.com to get that part #.

Quick question did you post the correct part # or are they displaying the wrong part?

The PN newdude posted is correct. I was able to get the kit on Amazon for $50/shipped. The images on google seem to show that this is a brake part kit and not for exhaust. Not sure why there would be an exhaust kit also listed for the same PN.

Thanks newdude! This saved the day! Will put up pics when the kit arrives.

I got this kit today and it doesn't look right. Not saying newdude was wrong or whatever. I have to look this over further. There are 5 lines that come with it. Looks nice. But it doesn't seem to fit anything on my truck... not even close.

Wait... my reading fails me. Pretty sure newdude was correct. I just need to find 3/16" pipe and bend it to fit for the pieces on the rear axle. Sorry for the confusion. Will keep y'all posted.

I had my family mechanic throw these lines in. (There was a bit of rust under the truck and doing it on the ground was going to be trouble.) He did the ones that go from the ABS to the rear and fronts-3 in total. The 2 lines that come off the reservoir didn't look bad and he suggested that I just do them myself to save the $$. This kit cut out a ton of time as he didn't need to bend much for them to fit.

Thanks again for posting up this information, it was a HUGE help for me. Truck feels great now with the new lines and whole system bled. Hopefully this sort of information will help people in the future.

A buddy of mine snagged a Sierra with extended cab, 4wd and standard bed. Brake lines are shot. Does anyone know if this PN would work for it? I'm guessing it would be fine but wanted to confirm. I found the kit on Amazon for really cheap.

Any help is appreciated.

Have your buddy call Rich (MS3DALE) with his vin# and Rich will send you the proper kit at a price near or better than Amazon. I went through the same thing with my truck. A huge PIA.

There may be a difference in kits for normal and quadrasteer.

There may be a difference in kits for normal and quadrasteer.

The differences fall in brake system, wheel base, truck type (1500, 2500, 2500hd, 3500, Tahoe, Suburban) and year. VIN numbers are the best way to narrow it down, or if truck owners get the brake codes they can be narrowed down by a VIN. Being that the kits don't come with the hard lines on the axles, Quadrasteer doesn't play much factor vs. a non Qsteer truck. If one of those lines blow, you'd have to make it. About 66 kit part numbers.
