Here is the aftermath of my bumper after the trailer and truck became separated. Now - had I had the breakaway break attached, I may have avoided the new look to my bumper. Anyone hazard a repair cost????? I'm going to get an estimate tomorrow. Hey - at least it didn't get my tailgate [emoji1]

how did the trailer become separate from the truck? but shit does happened. I was loading up a car on a 18' car trailer and I thought I had the hitch locked in but it wasn't it was just a bit rusty and when I was loading the truck on the trailer popped me in my tailgate on my 2012 gmc.

Leave it! It's a battle scar. And then you wont forget to attach the breakaway brake anymore. Cuz you will look at the bumper right before you hook up a trailer and see and remember.

Look on the marketplace for a replacement. Might be tough to find a white one though. I once had my bass boat do this right when I pulled out of the driveway

The way I have always looked at it is if you tear up the bumper on a truck it is time to get a heavier duty one. If that one had been made out of 6" drill stem all you would be doing is touching up the paint (and maybe installing airbags to combat the bumper induced sag). On the other hand the factory one does look nice.

yeah I gotcha... im sure your just glad it didn't hit your tailgate as that would cost you a lot more money. shit happens though, just gotta roll with it.
