Pulling a enclosed trailer, trailer brake

With no load you'll be fine without brakes and the w/d hitch. I wouldn't pay for a part that was suppose to have come with my truck either. Just make you keep in touch about the trailer once you start towing with it. Also be ready for the mpg hit, the v nose will help but still it's going to be heeeeavy load to pull.

Yeah I'm use to it man ute8ury2.jpg.

Mpg are no good with this either lol. My next truck will be diesel 3/4 ton but for know I'll tow what I can haha.

My uncle gave me a brand new brake controller he had in a box. Bought it for his f250 and found out it was built in truck so just been setting like a year

This is what he have me

Yeah I figured it would be more then enough. Okay so I called my dealer. In 2014 they did not come with the cords and you have to get it separate 15 bucks online or 44 at dealer part number 23184088.

"More than enough" can be quite a bad thing in the world of WD hitches. If you overcompensate with the hitch, it can and will "lift" the rear end, especially under braking or manuvers and can cause unpredictable behavior up to and including jack knifing going down the road.

That said, I think you'll be fine, just pay attention to ALL of the instructions on setup. If you change the load dramatically, be aware that you may need to either adjust, or remove the bars to prevent unloading the rear of the truck.

If you can swing it, the Equalizer brand has some eeeexcelent WD hitches. I know the listing you had used the term Equalizer in the description....but yeah they are just taking advantage of the good name of someone else's product. That is clearly not a true Equalizer. But it'll work I'm sure. The ONLY slight, and I do mean slight, gripe I've had on the Equalizer is it's not quite as easy to adjust compared to a chain setup. You may need an adjustable wrench or something.

LOL, no worries, just read the book! :) For me, I regularly pull an open (*sniff*, I is poor) car trailer. If I have a car on it, I put my bars on. No car, no bars. That simple!

If the rear of the truck looks like it's walking around in high heels...the bars are too tight!

well if you don't have trailer brakes when you go to pick it up when you finally get the controller put in you will notice a night and day difference! how much do those razrs weigh?

EDIT: also bad ass set up! im thinking about buying a 18' steel deck car trailer soon for me and my buddies four wheelers (I know I could buy a trailer specifically for that) but sometimes more people come and this way would could load at least 4 atvs on there no prob. plus when I do need to tow a car, bam I have a car trailer and I don't have to call my buddies to borrow theirs (I hate borrowing other ppls stuff).

Rzr are 1200 lbs each dry plus a few accessories and gas I call em 1500 got to be somewhere in that ball park.

Heck yeah man that will work good only thing that scares me on flat decks is them falling off somehow I like to have rails lol. I got a good deal on the enclosed so went ahead and got one, we ride at the dunes and it gets hot so first thing first is ac added to trailer to cool off.

haha yeah that is a little worry-some. but my little 5x8 trailer that I use now is worse, the tires are hanging off the edge.

Okay guys should I drive a hour to the dealer and go get harnes and hour home or will I be okay pulling the trailer home without the breaks

I would personally do what I could to get the harness in before getting the trailer just so you are safely towing the trailer back home. chances are you will be fine pulling it back home with it being empty and no brakes but having brakes will make your drive much more relaxing. esp if you have to go through any mountains or a lot of rolling hills. don't want to take a chance to overheat your brakes.

I say if you have time and can go get it do it but if not then eh F it.

More than likely you'll be fine. I wouldn't tailgate anybody. Won't be any issue outside of an emergency situation where you may not be able to stop as quickly as you'd like.

I'm actually going to the dealer next week for oil change and tire rotation and will already be there, I tried to reschedule it for today so I could have a reason to go but no openings

Wait a minute...you plan on hauling just a razr in this luxury mobile home without windows???

Have you got a little "shed" out back with 5 bedrooms, 3 bath, maybe a jacuzzi I can rent or something? Talk about overkill!

Rzr are 9 foot each without bumpers so it takes almost all 20 feet, id like to add windows and ac and fix it up a lil to have a place to cool off at

Each? As in multiple? Ok, I kinda missed the multiple. Sounded like one to me. I mean, if so bravo, but wow all that for one little 4 wheeler is kinda overkill! LOL
