Goodyear Tire problem

Current ride is a 06 duramax, had several sets of tires, mostly Goodrich All terrain. I have had 265/75/16 and also 285/75/16...all mounted on stock alloy wheels. 6.5 " I think. Never a problem. But last fall looking for alittle more traction in sloppy fields pulling a trailer I settled on Goodyear Dura Trac 285/75/16. Heard a lot of good thing about these tires. First 5-7,000 miles were fine but then it seemed I had a balance problem so took it in to Goodyear dealer where I bought them. They said I had a "hop" in a tire and wanted me to pay portion of a new one. I balked and called cust. Service they ends up replacing two for free. Fine with me. But now it's alway the same deal. Between 50-60 the truck shakes pretty bad then goes away after about 65. So then they replaced two more for free. But same deal. I'm frustrated and dealer is pleasant but also frustrated. I'm kind over this. 45,000 truck rides like crap!! What's going on here. And am I going harm the truck any, bearings, shocks or other components? Is it too small of rims? Didn't seem to be a problem with Goodrich skins! What's going on here and what should I do? Any ideas are welcome. Pisses me off every time I drive it.

Thanks for tour help here.

Goodyear tires a crap. As soon as mine either start to go, they will be replaced.

But even so, if they are putting brand new tires on you should be having such back luck. Sounds like the tire shop is doing a piss-poor job of balancing the tires out. I'd change shops.

Before I bit the bullet and replaced them, I might take them to another shop and have them checked out and maybe balanced again. They may also have another slant on the problem you're having. May cost you a few bucks but still cheaper than a new set of tires.
