Headlights fogging up!

One of my clients I work for is a body shop.

They got an 07 Silverado in to do some body and paint work on.

I always go check out the Silverados and Sierras to see what accessories they have and what they are like.

As I looked at the stock headlights, they seemed to have a bluish haze inside the lenses.

I asked the body man if he knew what happened to the headlights and he said it was when the headlights burn out they smoke and the smoke gets on the inside of the lenses.

Could this be true?

Well, after close inspection of the lenses, I would take a guess it is on the outside of the lens. I don't know how something like that could get on the inside of the lens? It is not my vehicle so I didn't grab a scrub pad or try to clean them. I am wondering if that is the plastic starting to decay from the heat of the sun.

I was just wondering if something like that is what will happen to my truck down the road.

I can't be sure but it definitely looks like something was put on the lens to cause that amount of haze. Almost looks like overspray from something. There are kits you can buy to clear that up. They should be relatively cheap. I'd try one of those and see if you can get the haze out. That just looks bad. I don't even do anything to my headlights are then occasionally clean them off of bug residue and mine are still pretty clear. I get plenty of the Georgia sun so I feel for you there.
