SMOKED / BLACKED OUT TAIL LIGHT LENS

Does anyone know of a place to get the smoked, tinted, or blacked out tail light lens or know of a good way to do this yourself? Wanting to black mine out a bit

I couldn't find anyone near me that could film tint my head lights, fogs lights, and tail lights, and I didn't want covers or spray tint, so I did them with film myself. You can get a 12" X 48" roll of tint for less than $10. Just go to the Amazon website and search "headlight tint". I did mine in 20% blue, but there are more options for color you want. On my tail lights, I only did the small section that was clear and left the red areas as they were...

Off topic but where did you get the black "SILVERADO" lettering?

I think the stop signs are too bright. Maybe we should black out some.

Yeah I did forget the third break light lol still haven't done it lol and the black lettering is the stock ones plasti dipped.

With VHT I will never use again though. I used it one time long ago and that was the only perfect time it ever came out right. tried using it multiple times before over the years and none have ever came out right and the first one I ever did the tint faded and turned back red. The vht will react with anything except a brand new almost lens. Even after using degreaser, washing, the nail polish remover, and washing and drying again it found something to react with and ruin the tail light. Luckily I was able to save the lights though and used rustoleum ever since.

I picked up a can of the rust oleum stuff today. What's the best way to make this happen? Obviously take them off clean them. Spray it on and clear coat it? Lme know thanks!

I did mine with rustoleum lens tint which is way better than VHT and cleared over it! Love it!

What I did was took them off then, took nail polish remover to them to clean any grease and all, then water and then masked off the reverse light and slowly built up the coats until I like it let it dry and then cleared.

You dont have to take them off if you use painters tape and newspaper.

Would it kill you to say anything nice about someone doing a mod you don't approve of?
