help 5.3 sluggish

2004 gmc sierra 5.3 55,000 miles. The truck just feels sluggish on bottom end and kinda has a dead spot around 3000 3500 rpm. Any ideas? No misses or any problems

Do you have bigger than stock wheels and tires? Are you a 4x4 or 2wd? What kinda of gas are you using? Is your air cleaner clogged?

In what condition are your plugs, wires, and filter? Have you had any codes?

 

At that mileage you shouldn't have any problems, I think its just subjective and maybe also caused by your gears, which ratio do you have?

 

Mine can also feel a little slow sometimes but its when its lugging around in a high gear. But if I'm in 3rd around town its always ready to go.

Could broke stepper motor for tachometer make any difference?

Its 373 and filter plugs wires all are good. I run regular 87 gas in it but that shouldnt matter
