Load range C 33's

Does anyone know of a tire company that makes an All Terrain tire in a C load range in the 33 inch size, or close to it?

The time has come for me to choose tires but I do not want 10 ply E range tires for a daily driver half ton that almost never hauls any kind of weight.

There are a few 6-ply (load range C) tires in the size I'm running, 275/65/18. They're only about 32" tall though.

Yea, I want to go 285/65R18.

I have heard mixed things about the Duratracs, otherwise I would go with the 295/65R18's.

Just get the E's... Plenty of people run them on half tons and never haul.

^^^ He's right. There's plenty of grocery getter 1500's running around on E-rated tires. The size of the tire will have more negative effects on the driving manners & mpg, than the ply rating. And a E-rated tire with around 40 psi (which is fine on an empty 1500, even though the max psi on an E tire is 80 psi) actually rides pretty decent.

Mine ride about the same as the 4 ply I had on. And are better in corners, with loads, etc. Haven't had a flat since I've had the 10 ply either. Know a guy in Dallas who never hauls or tows but runs E range tires so he never has to fix flats.

Toyo ATII ... 275/60r20 are a load range C. Not sure what diameter you are looking for but I did not need to go the "E" route either.

Yep. I had E-rated BFG's on my last truck. As you said, they're much more stable in corners and under load, while also being much more durable than the 4-ply stockers.

I am just concerned about the ride quality, as it is I will likely lose some ride quality with the lift kit.

One major upside with the E range though that you guys are right about is puncture resistance. My truck does spend some time in fields with deep holes and rocks. Not to mention the parking lot at work which is almost always full of washers, nuts, bolts, you name it.

The Toyo AT2 Extreme's are my number 1 choice right now. Waiting for a quote to come back from a friend who works at TireCraft here. I think 285/65R18 is a good size for a 4 inch lift, and a good compromise for fuel economy but still being able to get something aggressive and larger than stock.
