Correct me if Im wrong here but are the Fisher and western Plow mounts not the same ???

No they are not, the Western arms you simply pull the pin and the entire arm comes off leaving only the mount tucked up in the bumper.

The western plates sit a lot lower than the Fisher. IMO, Not enough ground clearance when mounted on a 1500.

But you just pull the pins and there is nothing hanging down.

That is true, but you probably won't be pulling the push plates until spring.

The Western PPs also hang our further than the Fisher.

I like that mount. It's a lot nicer looking than my SnoWay mount. I like my SW because of the downpressure, but the mount annoys me. I smack it on everything all the time...curbs, parking stops, dips in the road. It hangs low.

Looks a lot like a Boss plow mount, I would love having down pressure for back dragging!

How far out do the Fisher mounts stick past the bumper.  That may be a tough selling point for me, carrying around all that extra hardware and bumping into things in the summer

This is My 17 , Its the same Fisher set up that was on my 99 silverado, I keep updating , and painting, Mind you I don't do a lot of Plowing anymore , But at one time my account's numbered 30-35 residential . This last refit from my 11 to the 17, Side-plates were the same. just needed 1 wiring harness. I do the installs. I know mine does hang lower, but for me that does not justify the cost of new. Now if a v-plow would work on the 1/2 ton short box regular cab, that I would consider.
